Happy Birthday, Connor!

Yesterday was Connor's 2nd birthday. That's right-our little St Patty Day boy is 2 years old. We had a very good day centered around the birthday boy. Jessica took the day off and spent the morning with the boys-making Connor's cake, playing with the boys, and basically spending the time with the dudes. They came over to my school for lunch and then went to Bouncin' Bears in midtown Anchorage and bounced around on the inflatable fun houses for over 2 hours. I wish I could have been there with them, but, unfortunately, I had to work. After the Bouncin' Bears, we had birthday dinner. Meemaw and Peepaw, Jessica's friends Katherine and Brenda, and Brenda's children all came over for birthday pasta and cake.

Of course, the best part of any birthday party is the opening of presents. Connor must be truly loved, because he made out like a bandit. He loves all of his presents and would like to say "thank you" to everyone who sent him a present.

HIs favorite present was one from Mommy & Daddy-a Playmobile Pirate Ship. It took two of us-me and Peepaw-to put the darn thing together. It was worth it, though, because he has already spent several hours playing with it. Kierin is planning on breaking out the pirate chest he got for his birthday and playing a very complex pirate game that he has made up and explained to his mother and I in extreme detail.

After presents, Mommy brought out the birthday cake that she had made from scratch. Jessica had to look online to find a recipe that didn't use egg since Connor is allergic. Jessica was hesitant about baking the cake, but she did an awesome job-it was absolutely delicious!

As you can see, Connor also found the cake delicious. So delicious, in fact, that he got it all over himself.

After cake and after everyone had left, Connor put on his Elmo birthday jammies to go to bed. He must have had an exciting busy day, because he went right to sleep without any fuss at all.
