One of our first events in NYC was to see "Chicago" on broadway. I had seen the movie, of course, but I had never been to a show on Broadway before. It was actually a pretty cool experience. It is amazing what the actors can pull out on stage and how the audience has to use their imagination to fill in the "special effects." I was surprised how small the theater was, but it really made the show an initmate experience for the audience. A lot of fun! I hope to go again one day (this time with my beautiful wife, Jessica).
I thought this was a pretty cool picture of Times Square at night. This was after "Chicago" when we were looking for a place to eat.
This is in Ella's Stardust Lounge, a little 50's diner sort of place. However, it has a twist, as the waitstaff are all Broadway hopefuls who sing and dance all through your dinner. It was a lot of fun, but a little goes a long way and we didn't stay long. Still, it was kind of neat to think that your waitress would someday be playing on Broadway.
